Home / FAQs Parts Marking & Tracking
1. What is component tracking?
Component tracking is a way to monitor parts and equipment on and off your fleet. All markable components are labelled with their own unique identifying number and corresponding QR code and their location is recorded and tracked at all times.
Every time a vehicle comes into the depot, the DATAMARK personnel scan the unit to check that all components are where they are expected to be. Marked parts are also inspected in all other locations such as stores, off-component and scrap areas. Any exceptions are highlighted and reported to the client as a “Pending Issue” for investigation and resolution.
Marked parts are tracked on vehicles, in stores, when issued to breakdown, when issued to satellite stores and when they go forrepair either on site or off site. This information provides a clear picture ofthe movement of parts from purchase to stores onto vehicles and back again.
2. Can I see a full history of a vehicle’s parts used throughout its life?
Yes the Client can access a report on any vehicle for any period of time to what parts are marked and what parts have been changed and when. The parts are marked in position so a Client will be able to see how many times the right from shock has been changes for example.
3. Can I see a full history of a component’s life?

The ROM’s are sent to Head Office for upload into the DATATRACK system.

9. What contributions does the client make to the running of the system?
10. Will there be disruption to the daily running of the site?

Running and maintaining DATATRACK involves minimal interruption to the client activities.
11. How are inspections conducted?
