Part Marking & Tracking

DATAMARK’s purpose built component tracking software DATATRACK is designed to reflect the best business practices of the local region. It offers a unique component management ability that monitors movements of an extensive range of component types both in stores and on vehicles. Originally designed to prevent theft by exchange, DATATRACK has been developed to audit clients’ own stores and workshop systems and provide valuable information on vehicle maintenance as well as assist in procurement decisions.

DATAMARK utilizes a non-transferable, uniquely numbered QR coded label to mark the range of components and moveable equipment selected by the client. An onsite team of DATAMARK checkers carries out daily inspections on vehicles as they pass through the depot. Inspections are sent electronically to the DATATRACK system at Head Office. Exceptions and outstanding issues reports are communicated to appropriate line managers on a weekly basis for action, with the DATAMARK Site Supervisor standing by to help find resolution.

The Process

DATAMARK implement and remain on site to continuously mark and inspect parts on vehicles and in stores.

Key Benefits

DATAMARK marking and tracking is not a stock or accounting system, it is an individual component marking and tracking system, where a powerful database is built up over time to give clients valuable insight into their haulage operation and reduce consumption of parts.  It also supports accounting and stock systems by providing an independent set of data that can be compared to the clients’ own records.

The DATAMARK system is underpinned by the marking and tracking of parts on and off vehicles, in and out of stores, to and from repairs and breakdowns. DATAMARK’s on site employees do all the marking and data capture while doing regular scanning inspections of vehicles and stores to ensure that all components are where they are expected to be.
